Spiderman Banner

Vector Illustration Design
Background
For this project, I had to create a professional web banner. After looking around for inspiration, I quickly decided on a Spider-Man theme because I had a clear vision of how the final design should look. Since it’s Spider-Man, I used a bold red color palette as the base to make the banner pop. I built the entire illustration from scratch using Adobe Illustrator, focusing on tools like the Pen tool, Anchor Point tool, and Pathfinder.
Challenge
The biggest challenge was, without a doubt, drawing Spider-Man’s mask. It was a real puzzle to get all the web lines to connect perfectly with eachother and with the eyes. I had to make sure the left and right sides of the head matched up so the face didn't look crooked. The eyes were also tricky, they have small details that need to be in exactly the right spot to get that iconic Spider-Man look. It took a lot of precision, but it was worth it!
Key findings
The Power of the Pen Tool
I discovered that while the Pen tool takes time to learn, it is incredibly powerful. Once I got the hang of it, I realized I could draw almost anything I imagined.
Patience Pays Off
Creating a high-quality illustration takes more time than I first thought. I learned that focusing on the small details is what makes a design go from "okay" to "pro."
Simplicity in Shapes
I found out that even complex characters like Spider-Man are actually made of basic shapes. It’s all about how you combine and layer them.
Key results
Final Result
I am extremely proud of how the mask turned out. I spent so much time and effort on it, and it looks exactly how I wanted it to. Looking at the final banner, it feels like a real advertisement you would see on a gaming website. It’s a clean, polished design that shows I can create professional visuals using vector tools.
